St. Petersburg Museum of History - Experience Cuba!
June 15 to September 30 - Experience Cuba! - A multi-faceted exhibition celebrating the beauty, culture and history of the once forbidden island with a photography exhibit of Clyde Butcher, original artwork of Cuban artists Los Carpinteros and Ibrahim Miranda and photographs that capture the culture and history of Cuba, its people, place and activities of present-day Cuba. Presented by AARP and the Florida Humanities Council.

SHINE Walking Mural Tours
The Central Arts District in downtown St. Petersburg is proud to announce the inaugural Walking Mural Tour. Visitors will hear the inside stories of the making of over 25 murals found in the four block tour. Who is Woo? Why Frida and Twiggy? Photo opps as a bird, a fish, a bug!
Regular tours will be scheduled on Saturday mornings from 10-11:30am
The cost for the tour is $19 for adults, $11 for children ages 6-18, under 5 is free.
Reservations are required so we can have tour guides available for you. Wear comfortable shoes as this involves walking on uneven surfaces up four blocks and back.

Hawk & Wayne's Anywhere, USA
Hawk & Wayne are "In Search of... America" through their fresh and hilarious improv show: ANYWHERE, U.S.A. Join them as they visit strange new towns, and casts of oddball characters. Audiences will provide the name of the town, the state where it's located, and a topic of conversation currently consuming the townsfolk. Gavin Hawk and Ricky Wayne are back for their 7th Season with American Stage. Come prepared to laugh!
CREATIVE BLOCK - SHINE Opening Block Party
Opening Block Party for the 2016 SHINE Mural Festival, including live art, music, food and group art exhibition. This year's SHINE Mural Festival rolls out by painting the streets, literally. Renowned local artist Cecilia Lueza will lead a team of volunteers to transform the intersection at Central Ave & 5th St. into a piece titled "Common Ground"; a vibrant street-level mural symbolizing the diverse backgrounds and creativity of artists who find inspiration and meaning in the city. Adding to the occasion, a truly unique pop-up art exhibition will be on display during "Creative Block' – converting 15 Red Bull coolers into unique works of art; created by some of Tampa Bay's most prominent and emerging talent. Two artists will be awarded an invite to experience the Red Bull's House of Art in Detroit, Michigan.

American Stage opens its 2016-17 season with Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Stephanie Gularte. The show asks the question: Is it strength of character or just a few lucky breaks that determines our fate? With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America. 6 Artists, 3 Teams, 90 Minutes, 1 Winning Team A 90-minute live illustration battle in black and white! Competing artists have 90 minutes to create an artwork using only black markers and black paint. No pencils/sketches will be used as reference. Winners will be selected by 2 guest judges, plus a crowd vote using a decibel reader!
Morean Arts Center: Exhibition Openings
Morean & SPFestival Exhibition Opening Reception for two new exhibitions:Paradise Cities Premier: Urban Art in Florida Opening Night Party for a brand new visual arts exhibit featuring female graffiti artists who are often overlooked and out numbered in the rough and tumble world of street art. Paradise Cities: Urban Art in Florida on view all month long. An exhibition featuring the work of 10 female artists in the Sunshine State who incorporate a street art aesthetic into their studio practice. Participants include Hilary White and Iryna Kanischeva of Gainesville, Joelle Dietrick of Tallahassee, Angela Delaplane of Tampa, and Jennifer Kosharek, Cecilia Lueza, Jeannette St. Amour, Suzy Schultz, Naomi Glueck and Sarah Sheppard of St. Pete. The show will coincide with the 2nd annual SHINE St. Petersburg Mural Festival, in which several of these artists are participants. David Williams: I Wish you Could Hear what I'm Thinking David Williams is known for his paintings appropriating images from magazines, advertisements, and other bits of pop culture. This exhibition features work from series he completed in the last 15 years, and demonstrates his influence on local street artists working in the Bay area.

On September 10th, SHINE LIVE will take over the massive Furnish Me Vintage parking lot to bring you the brightest block party of the summer featuring live art, live music, food, drink and retail vendors. The Only Daddys with The Hummingbirds: Classic Country Meets Americana - at the Palladium
Classic Country meets Americana. Back by popular demand, the Only Daddys were the house rockin' band for the Patsy Cline tribute show this past spring. The Hummingbirds are a singer-songwriting duo combining southern charm and Detroit grit. Expect a rollicking evening of boot stompin' music with tales of love and loss, of rattlesnakes and swamps, highways, and lighthouses.

Meet the artists and gallery owners during this casual, festive evening as over 40 studios and galleries in the Waterfront Arts, Central, EDGE, Grand Central and Warehouse Arts Districts come together as one arts destination. ArtWalk is Opening Night where many galleries and studios premiere new works. It's impossible to take in the entire ArtWalk in one night! ARTofficial Intelligence: The Fifth Annual St. Pete Robot Exchange
"The Robots are coming!" ARTofficial Intelligence: The St Pete Robot Exchange is an annual art event in St. Petersburg. The open call exhibit includes a robot inspired art show, live music, costume prizes and a celebration of all things "robotica". Makers, Artists and enthusiasts are invited to buy, sell or trade their creations at the exchange. 2016 marks the 5 year anniversary for the Robot Exchange. This year looks to be the best event yet!
Florida Holocaust Museum - Magic!
Join us for a fabulous family friendly affair to kick off the 25th Anniversary of The Florida Holocaust Museum. Grant Peeples in Concert
A self-described "vegetarian that watches NASCAR, and tree-hugger with a gun below the seat," national singer-songwriter Grant Peeples is known for his ax-sharp socio-political tunes, raucous humor and heart-gigging ballads. In 2014 he was the recipient of the Focus Foundation Award for Creative Excellence, which cited the "humor, compassion and wisdom of his songs," as well as their "unflinching social insight and cultural acuity." Third Coast Magazine's John Conquest says "Peeples is unusually literate, unusually honest. And the only songwriter I have ever called 'ruthless'." This year he was chosen as a finalist in the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Songwriter showcase.

Sunshine City Opera's inaugural concert features a trio performance of soprano, mezzo soprano and piano. Sunshine City Opera specializes in performing new and less-frequently heard opera repertoire. The audience will experience a buffet of sounds ranging from the avant garde to the melodically sublime. Come sample some of the best that living composers have to offer the field of opera!

War Virgin, a Musical Comedy
Based on her book released 9/11/16, West Point graduate, Iraq war veteran and New Port Richey native Laura Westley, aka "the War Virgin," offers her personal and candid, irreverent look at the comically naughty, sexually-charged underbelly of the military through spoken word and music. War Virgin has been performed in Boston, Tampa and later this fall, at Westley's alma mater West Point. She is seeking to bring War Virgin to Broadway. 7pm, $65 VIP pre-show reception with light fare, music, meet & greet with Laura Westly, reserved prime seating. Book signing in lobby after the show.
Our Town: A Moving Dance Tour of St. Pete
Our Town is a curated series of original, short, site-specific dance performances that occur in multiple well-known and beloved locations throughout downtown St. Pete. The audience travels from piece to piece, on a guided tour that begins at the Shuffleboard Courts and ends in the Mural Alley along 6th and 7th Streets. Choreographers include Helen Hansen French, Kellie Harmon, and Andee Scott of the St. Pete Dance Alliance, in addition to Elsa Valbuena, Erin Cardinal, and Alex Jones. Our Town begins at the Shuffleboard Courts at 6pm and additional sites include the Mirror Lake Library, the Red Chairs, the open-air Post Office, Cycle Brewery, and the mural alley. *This program is subject to change.
Green Songs: Green Poems & Lyrics Blossom into Songs
The lean Green Song Machine is open for submissions of "green" poems or lyrics which will be transformed into songs. In this ecologically conscious workshop, sponsored by the St Pete Poetry Nuts, we will take the best green poems/lyrics and, with the help of collaborating songwriters and musicians, transform them into songs to be performed. The resulting songs could be rock, protest, country western, hip hop, blues style, etc.
St. Petersburg Ballet Company
The St. Petersburg Ballet Company will present excerpts from:
- Act II of Swan Lake, with guest artist Daniel Johnson as Prince Siegfried.
- A Shostakovich, a classical ballet.
- Traditional Russian Folk Dances
- Cakewalk, a tribute to St. Petersburg's historic Williams Park in 1915 and its infamous green benches.

Central Avenue Solstice - Eight Mile Long Street Festival
- An all-day celebration along Central Ave featuring Art, Music, Food & more
- The street festival takes place on the Saturday closest to the date that the sun rises on the east end of Central Avenue, then travels along Central setting into the Gulf of Mexico on the west end of Central.
- The Solstice Festival starts in South Straub Park and ends in West Central Village Sunset Park at 7:21 PM including movies in the park presented by St Petersburg Preservation Association. TBD
- Participants include the Downtown Business Association, the Downtown Neighborhood Association, Central Arts District, the EDGE District, Grand Central District, Warehouse Arts District, the Deuces, the Professional District and the West Central Village. Free trolleys all day.
TBBCA Chalk Walk Festival
A celebration of Live Art as 10 talented, commissioned chalk artists bring amazing drawings to life. TBBCA Chalk Walk is a free, family-friendly, accessible community event enjoyed by people of all ages and levels of art appreciation.Presented in partnership with the Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts and the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance. Keep Saint Petersburg Local, Keep St. Pete Lit, and Saint Petersburg Public Library System present a program of the Read Local St. Pete Initiative with a City-Wide Read and Write-In at South Straub Park. Bring your picnic blankets, favorite books, or notepads. Relax in the grass and allow your imagination to bask in the sunshine and fresh air. We will have a special area for writers with writing prompts to get your imaginations brewing. Invite your friends! Spread the word! Let's pack the park with lovers of literature! St. Petersburg Opera - Mornings With the Maestro
Our Maestro series programs are introductions to upcoming productions and to opera in general. This one will be the preview to the fall show, Il Trovatore, which is onstage at the Palladium in mid-October. The Sept. 30 show is titled: Preview to Il Trovatore: Dark Lady Played Black Magic. At the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.
Eluv Eluv: Music for Peace
An evening of exquisite Indian music performed by Grammy-winner and santur maestro Nandkishor Muley, accompanied by Eluv. Nandkishor Muley brings the sublime music of Northern India played on santur, the hammer dulcimer. Accompanied by vocalist and crystal singing bowl artist Eluv, the concert also features East meets West performances featuring sitar, world percussion, guitar, tabla, angels harps, and vocals.
